13 April 2010 – The latest data in the Swiss Biotech Report 2010 reveals that the Swiss biotech industry continued to grow in 2009.
The number of people employed in the sector grew to 19,071, up 6 per cent from 2008. Annual turnover also grew to CHF 9.3 billion,
an increase of 7 per cent over the previous year. Much of the growth took place among publicly-traded companies, while privately-owned
biotech financial results and head-counts remained stable.

8 April 2010 – Global IPO activity clearly increased in the first quarter of 2010 compared to the previous year’s quarter. According to
the Q1 2010 Global IPO Update from Ernst & Young, the strongest impulses came from the still robust Asian markets, but the comeback of European IPOs also
contributed to this development.

look to the future with optimism, an increase is expected in investments and in employment. In terms of stability, SMEs in northwest Switzerland
are above average despite the crisis, because only one in thirteen is at risk.
